Black Honey - Rock Bottom

Bekannt durch ihre musikalisch-sinnbildlichen Vintage-Americana-Welten aus grünem Palmenfarn, himmelblauen Weiten und schneeweißem Sandstrand Kaliforniens, sehnte sich Black Honeys energiegeladener Sound förmlich nach dem Eskapismus vergangener Jahrzehnte, ohne sich dabei jemals an der bloßen Nostalgie angebiedert zu haben. Mit kreativer und musikalischer Reife erschuf die Band aus Brighton schnell ihren ganz eigenen magischen Raum großer Sehnsüchte. Ein wenig Glam-Rock, ein bisschen Pop und Grunge treffen auf unkonventionelles Songwriting auch auf ihrem neuen Album „A Fistful Of Peaches“. Nur diesmal geht es weniger um imaginäre Gefühlswelten anderer, sondern um die ganz eigenen Befindlichkeiten gegenüber der Gegenwart und Zukunft. Allem voran in ihrem Song „Rock Bottom“ kommt die gesamte eskapistische Wucht ihres Spiels zusammen und erschafft so einen beflügelnden zeitgenössischen Rock-Song im noch jungen Musikjahr 2023. Mit ihrer einzigartigen Ästhetik und ihrem kreativen Ansatz geht es auf eine lyrisch emotionale Reise durch die ganz eigenen Kämpfe mit sich selbst und der Welt, welche getragen wird durch ein absolut selbstbewusstes Zusammenspiel der Band. „Rock Bottom“ und das gesamte neue Album machen Black Honey auch weiter zu einer der aufregendsten Rockbands Großbritanniens.

Known for their musically emblematic vintage Americana worlds of green palm ferns, sky-blue expanses and snow-white sandy California beaches, Black Honey's energetic sound literally yearned for the escapism of decades past without ever pandering to mere nostalgia. With creative and musical maturity, the Brighton band quickly created their very own magical space of great longings.

A little glam rock, a little pop and grunge meet unconventional songwriting on their new album "A Fistful Of Peaches" as well. Only this time it's less about the imaginary emotional worlds of others, but about their very own sensitivities towards the present and the future. Especially in their song "Rock Bottom" the whole escapist force of their playing comes together to create an inspiring contemporary rock song in the still young music year 2023. With their unique aesthetics and creative approach it goes on a lyrical emotional journey through their very own struggles with themselves and the world, which is carried by an absolutely self-confident interplay of the band. "Rock Bottom" and the entire new album continue to make Black Honey one of the most exciting rock bands in the UK.
