Scar Tissue - The deep scar tissue of the Red Hot Chili Peppers
With their debut album "Collector," from 2020, the American quintet Disq already attracted attention with playful ease. Now "Desperately Imagining Someplace Quiet"—or "Disq" for short—was released last year, which is much more sensual than its refreshing debut before. In addition to many exciting suburban snapshots, "Meant To Be" marks one of the most beautiful moments on this special self-titled indie rock guitar record. The Wisconsiners are clearly walking in new ways here.
Much more experimental and perfectly shaped, Disq play into teenage life in a way that oscillates between escapism and reality. If Disq maintains their experimental joy of playing, it is only a matter of time before the band starts booking slots on stages outside the United States with the greats of the world. Guitarist Isaac de Broux-Slone sings about "The way things are meant to be," in "Meant To Be." He's right.
